Wes Hamrick
Wes Hamrick, the Grand Bohemian’s Director of Entertainment, engages audiences around the world with his distinctive style and versatility at the piano.
His career began at age fourteen in his native Florida with musical theater performances at Theatre on Park, a professional repertory theater in Winter Park, Florida. He was awarded a scholarship to attend the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where he studied with pianist Richard Morris and later graduated with a degree in piano performance. His post-graduate work was at the University of Hawaii and with noted jazz pianist-composer James Drew.
Whether playing classical music or jazz, Wes captivates his audience. His performances have taken him to destinations around the world from Moscow to Tokyo. He has performed with Symphony Orchestras including the Bach Festival Orchestra, The Florida Symphony Orchestra, The Orlando Philharmonic and a special performance with the Orquestra Sinfónica de Puerto Rico for the inauguration of Hernandez Colon, governor. Big band performances with the Jimmy Dorsey Band, television appearances on Life Styles of the Rich and Famous and The Travel Channel have brought him world-wide recognition. Wes has been a featured artist on cruise lines including Norwegian Cruise Lines, American Hawaii Cruises and Cunard Cruise Line’s World Cruise.
A favorite with Florida audiences, Wes performs regularly in the Grand Bohemian’s Klimt Rotunda. At other times, he can be found performing at music festivals and special events throughout the country. |
